Dr. Shiva has worked for over 8 years as a Clinical Psychologist in Iran, and is fluent in speaking Farsi. Following the completion of a Master in Clinical Psychology and Ph.D in Clinical-Health Psychology, she worked with clients across the life span from children to adolescents and adults with emotional, social, behavioural and mental health difficulties.
Dr. Shiva's special interests are depression, stress and anxiety, grief, trauma and relationship issues. She works collaboratively with her clients using evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and MetaCognitive Therapy (MCT). Having spent much of her life overseas, she has a very culturally sensitive therapeutic approach.
Dr. Shiva is trained and experienced in helping people to cope with the physical and emotional consequences of cancer, covid-19 and other medical or chronic conditions such as (heart disease, diabetes, obesity, pain, etc. She is passionate about being able to provide a safe, non-judgmental and compassionate space where her clients feel supported and understood, and experience healing and change.
